Whether you are someone who is interested about establishing a business online or you’re a small business owner, you’ve probably heard of SEO, which is referred to as search engine optimization and became popular as the world shifts into an online heavy business market.
A lot of people think SEO is as simple as creating countless backlinks to your website from any source you can. Well, you’re wrong. SEO is basically the act of improving your ranking in Google, Yahoo, Bing, and some search engines so your clients or other online users will find your website.
Why SEO is Necessary?
SEO is very essential for any business who aims for an online presence. Although you do not sell products on your website, you may still gain crucial clients through the internet. Customers are searching for internet first for information, comparison shopping, and reviews. If you can get more clients from search engines, it is a good investment.
Key SEO Factors
If you’re ready to incorporate SEO on your website, there are many factors that you must know before you try to get random links. Google is smart and features highly advanced algorithms that look at different factors in determining rankings for websites. Some of these factors are user experience, website speed, on-page optimization, website age, social signals, and quality backlinks.
- Quality Backlinks
It’s an important factor when it comes to SEO, yet be careful with the kinds of links you’re getting. Back then, you can create many backlinks to your website and you’d get a higher ranking because of that. But, today, the algorithm of Google has changed and looks for more quality backlinks than quantity.
- Social Signals
A lot of search engine algorithms are now utilizing social signals when determining ranking position. The social signals are links, shares, tweets, and post regarding your website on your social media sites. Search engines crawl such websites just like other websites. If you have a huge number of followers, it can boost your ranking.
- Age of Your Website
Website age is one of the known ranking factors. If your website has been in the industry for a long period of time, there’s a higher chance it’s an authority website. Google won’t allow any brand new site to rank at the top for cars. Search engine optimization takes time as well as establishing authority takes time.
- On-Page Optimization
For search engine bots to get date from the website properly, you should optimize it so that the bots will be able to read it clearly. This factor is about optimizing your HTML so you can easily tell search engine spiders what your website is about.
- Speed of Your Website
It is essential to have fast websites because users only spend several seconds to decide whether to leave or stay on your website. If your website is slow, you might lose potential clients and won’t help you get quality backlinks and social signals. So, make sure to boost your website speed.
- User Experience
It’s a factor that not all think it has something to do with SEO. It may be true sometimes, yet often, having a great user experience will help you gain followers and social signals.

I first thought SEO was that you were first describing, haha, thank you for clearing me that :p
I didn’t know about it, but not at all, I think that’s why sometimes you are doing something good and don’t get the attention you want, or when you are watching someone else and thinking “what’s this thing isn’t as popular of others”
I learned basic seo many years ago, it’s changed a lot now, never had much success 🙁
